Sara Haefeli teaches music history, American experimentalism, and philosophy of creativity courses at Ithaca College.  Her monograph, John Cage: A Research and Information Guide, is currently in print, and her work on Cage has been published in the journal American Music. She presented her recent research on Caroline Shaw and post-experimentalism at the “Performing Experimentalism” conference in Leeds, England this past summer.  She was scholar-in-residence with the new music festival Nuit d’Hiver in Marseille, France in 2012, and will be the scholar-in-residence with the Callithumpian Consort for the 2018-19 concert season.  Haefeli is currently the associate editor of the Journal of Music History Pedagogy and this fall will become the journal’s Editor-in-Chief.
